It’s been too long since we’ve been back to the great state of Minnesota. Zach’ll be dropping in for a weekend concert in St. Paul. The concert is Friday, but Zach will be in town through Sunday, so feel free to contact him if you’re going to be in the area (for coffee or a house show, whatever). Hope to see you there!

SXSW! We had a great time down in Austin! Played a really fun set to a brimming crowd up on the lofty rooftop of The Buffalo Lounge. Met new people & had some great time with friends from Austin and elsewhere. Lane & I got to record a quiet acoustic session for The Halfway House (down from Michigan). We’ll let you know when the session is up…. The festival was a touch on the crazy side (parking is madness, at any given street corner you can hear 3-5 bands, peeing in the alleys, etc.), but all in all, we had a good time. Here’re a couple photos from the show, and a little map showing our >1000 miles we logged. And the wonderful, classy, en pointe band (some of whom are not pictured) are: Brian Cunningham (hand percussion), Evan French (drums), Kelly Arndt (electric guitar), Lane Winters (background vocals), Liz Ulrich (background vocals), Megan Walsh (background vocals), & Trey Davidson (electric bass). Thanks to all involved! It was an honor.

Our son was in T-town, and yes, we got on the slightly slower 69 and remedied that at I-40 (thanks to the co-piloting strategy of one, Eric Arndt).

Ramona persevered SXSW with unaskable grace, patience, and goodwill towards all.

Winding down the year with thoughtfulness, introspection and friends & family to pull me back up and out.

We’ve got one more show on the docket for 2012. It’s been a fun year of getting to play more concerts, hearing people’s responses to the album, and getting to play with lots of great people (Brian Cunningham, Brian Payne, Brianna Gaither, Chantal Loper, Daniel Crawford, Jillian Edwards, Johnny Stimson, Justin LeBeau, Kelcy White, Kelly Allen Arndt, Lane—my wife, Liz Ulrich, Megan Walsh, Sunday Lane & The Vespers).

Looking forward to the coming year.  Musically, we’ll finish with demos for a new album in December and start into recording in earnest early in 2013.  We’re excited to share the songs and to continue to pursue God and receive from him through the medium of music.  May I/we know him more and more (through it).
